TIMES OF REFRESHING

HELLO, WORLD!!!! ARE YOU LISTENING?
When Jesus sent out His apostles to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit…” He was speaking to
ALL WHO HAVE HEARD! But, are we really listening to what He says?
One of the most difficult things about our 21st-century world today is that it is so difficult to listen when we have all the NOISE around us. What is worse is that it seems that we only listen to what we want….sometimes, blocking out what we NEED to hear. I fear that this is very dangerous as we might fall into the “pit of denials” which would simply make things worse for us.
LET US LISTEN WITH OUR HEARTS AND FACE THE TRUTH!
If we are true disciples of God, we need to face the (sometimes) bitter truth about what we have become or what we have failed to do. Jesus constantly offers us the option to change (conversion to Christ); therefore, we don’t need to pretend that all is well when it is NOT.
Let us listen to Jesus with our hearts and FACE THE TRUTH! There is always room for change! Why be afraid?

VACCINATION DRIVE, A SUCCESS!
When I asked the Pima County Health to include us as a venue for the Corona Virus Vaccination, I was a bit skeptical as we were across from the U of A. However, in the end, I said, “Well, it’s worth a shot!”
Indeed it was, the FEMA team came early on Pentecost Sunday and set up.
Indeed, it was wonderful to see people from our parish and beyond coming in for their “jabs”. I was even pleasantly surprised that some people who had professed NOT to take it were there as they had changed their minds.
I was also very joyful to see those of other faiths lining up. There were lots of wide smiles when I greeted them in Arabic, “Assalam, Allaikum!” (Translated: May the Peace of Allah be with you).
Thank you, everyone!
CHALLENGING SCHOOL YEAR HAS ENDED!
We had the joy in celebrating the 8th-grade graduation last week and the kindergartners this last Wednesday. Looking back, I am so grateful to our principal, Mrs. Charlene Roll, our vice principal, Mrs. Marty Ratliff, and the dedicated Teachers and staff for their exemplary service in allowing the education of our children to continue despite all the challenges.
There was so much creativity (Read: “Thinking outside the box.”) in keeping a high level of interest in the previously uncharted modes of teaching. Congratulations and our sincere gratitude for all the effort that you put in.

Volunteers are needed!!!
We have just ended the Religious Education program at Saints Peter and Paul for the 2020/2021 season. Since we could not meet in person this past year, we developed an online program based on the Sadlier education series. As a result, families united and assisted in helping the program prepare students for their First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and advance in grade level.
I want to thank all the families that were involved in the program. You are the reason that Students continued in developing their Spiritual connection with Our Lord.
We are beginning our program planning for the new 2021/2022 season and need volunteers to help. It looks very probable that we will be allowed to hold in-class instruction.
Throughout the next few months, we will be publishing a series of notes about what it means to be a Teacher, a Catechist, for the Lord, helping our young minds discover the love of Christ.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can help, please click on the link below, "SIGN UP", and we will call you.
